The symphonic poem Wind of Yemen for symphonic band (2000) is based on the ancient traditional tunes and dance melodies which were kept during the centuries by a very closed society of Yemenite Jews.
The work comprises two connected movements. In the first movement I tried to depict a landscape of the desert, its sound atmosphere. The second movement is a picture of the folk festival.
Wind of Yemen was performed at the Asian Music Festival 2003 in Tokyo and at WASBE 2009 conference in Cincinnati (USA).
