Maurice Greene (1696-1755) was one of the leading musicians and composers in 18th century England. He was Organist at St Paul’s Cathedral and the Chapel Royal, Professor of Music at Cambridge University, and Master ofthe King’s Musick, and is considered to be one of the finest Georgian composers, with many of his works still performed today.
The anthem O Praise The Lord is taken from Praise the Lord, O MySoul. It takes its text from Psalm 103, and has been edited for solo or unison Voice with Piano accompaniment by Edgar Stanley Roper.
