Klassik
Thomas Morley (c.1557-1602) was an Elizabethan composer, organist and printer, and one of the foremost members of the English musical renaissance. He studied under William Byrd and later became organist at St PaulsCathedral. He almost certainly knew and was associated with William Shakespeare, and is one of the few contemporary composers whose settings of Shakespeare’s verse have survived. He is best remembered for his madrigals such asNow Is The Month Of Maying, but he also wrote many sacred works, undoubtedly for use at St Paul’s.
