Zwei miniaturenhafte Stücke von hohe Intensität, erstaufgeführt in 1963 in New York von Matthew Raimondi (Violine) und Robert Helps (Klavier). In ihrer musikalischen Dichte entfaltet sich der Dialog zwischen den beiden Instrumenten in feenhafter Leichtigkeit. Ursula Mamlok wurde 1923 in Berlin geboren, wo sie schon früh mit ihrer musikalischen Ausbildung begann. Aufgrund ihrer jüdischen Abstammung von den Nationalsozialisten verfolgt, verließ Ursula Mamlok gemeinsam mit ihren Eltern Berlin und wanderte 1939 nach Ecuador aus. Sie unterrichtete Komposition an der New York University, der Temple University und über 40 Jahre an der Manhattan School of Music in New York. Seit 2006 lebt Ursula Mamlok wieder in ihrer Geburtsstadt Berlin. (Bettina Brand)
