Both of Glazunov's piano concertos belong to the genre of the symphonic concerto, which nonetheless makes very great demands on the soloist. With its interesting modern harmonies, the Piano Concerto no. 2 op. 100 (1917) is on the same level as the popular Violin Concerto op. 82.
