Davide Delle Cese, an Italian composer born in Pontecorvo (Frosinone), was band conductor in Venice, San Leo and Bitonto. In 1897 he wrote this march dedicated to an anonymous little English girl, who had a big success also in the USA. It is a typical Italian concert march, played very often in the south, very fresh and ‘cantabile', with dramatical moments.
