Neben der Oper "Carmen" zählt "L'Arlessienne" zu den bekanntesten Werken Bizets.
Das hieraus stammende "Agnus Dei" hat Markus Rebehn für Blasorchester und ein variables Soloinstrument (Tenorhorn, Bariton, Posaune oder Trompete) oder für Sologesang (Tenor oder Sopran) neu bearbeitet. Durch möglichst genaue Umsetzung des Originals entstand ein Werk, das sich sowohl für ein Kirchenkonzert als auch für weltliche Anlässe eignet.
