for male choir and recorder
Commissioned by the West German Radio WDR, the Egyptian composer Mohamed Saad Basha wrote this work in 2008 on an Arabic text of the songwriter Fawzy El-Melegy. The story is about a man who wants to be accepted by God because of his pious behaviour. The choir is divided into three tenor and three bass groups while the solo instrumentalist plays various types of recorders which cover the range from bass to soprano.
